Three of Swords characters--Olivier and Dominique, and their familiars Tehyo (monkey) and Mawu (tarantula).

Ollie and Minnie are part of a coven located just outside New Orleans. They're boyfriend and girlfriend at this point. I just wanted to do something kind of cute and relaxing....

Characters (c) myself and :iconnegaigoto:

EDIT: I put in more light at the horizon and tried the purple shadows that :iconsw: suggested.

EDIT 2: New version, after the original hi-res was lost.

I don't like tarantuals, but I like your story. :)
"Bring on that pecan pie....Pour some sugah on it sugah don't be shy..."

Sorry. Couldn't help myself. Tehyo is one sexy monkey, and Ollie's pretty monkeylicious himself. And yes I consider it my duty to leave inane comments on every 3ofS picture you draw. It's my right.
O h sweet! That looks good, I think it might be one of my fave color pieces from you in the digital way. ;D I kinda would like to see some extra shadow here and there maybe some nice purple? Since some parts are nicely color balanced but some parts like on Olivier? I like the use of green line on the trees in the back, it helps separate things. But maybe lighten it to a little more yellow at the tops of the trees to enhance the glow of the sunset? Digging it over all! Nice texture on the tree! <3
Thanks! Yeah over spring break I've been experimenting with different brushes to get texture--I think human skin is the only thing I'm still using a soft brush on, because I like it to look like that, but I've been trying chalk and watercolor brushes and I like them a lot. Also, I discovered that by lightening the opacity on the flat color layers, and using an orange undertone, I can make the whole thing work better lighting-wise.

Good suggestions though, I'll try to work those in.
